സന്തോഷ് ശിവന് പിയര്‍ ആഞ്ജിനോ പുരസ്‌കാരം. ഈ ബഹുമതി ലഭിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരന്‍

സന്തോഷ് ശിവനെ ഫോണില്‍ വിളിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അദ്ദേഹം മുംബയിലായിരുന്നു. ലാഹോര്‍ 47 എന്ന പുതിയ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഷൂട്ടിംഗ് ലൊക്കേഷനില്‍. കാന്‍ ചലച്ചിത്രമേളയിലെ പിയര്‍ ആഞ്ജിനോ പുരസ്‌കാരം സന്തോഷ് ശിവന് ലഭിച്ചു എന്നറിഞ്ഞതിന് പിന്നാലെയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഫോണില്‍ വിളിച്ചത്. ആദ്യം അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങള്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. സന്തോഷ് നന്ദി പറഞ്ഞു. അവാര്‍ഡ് ലബ്ധിയെക്കുറിച്ച് ചോദിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.

‘മഹാരഥന്മാരായ മുന്‍ഗാമികള്‍ക്ക് ലഭിച്ച പുരസ്‌കാരമാണ്. അവരുടെ ഇടയിലേയ്ക്ക് എനിക്കും സ്ഥാനം തന്നതില്‍ അത്യധികമായ സന്തോഷമുണ്ട്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസമാണ് പിയര്‍ ആഞ്ജിനോ പുരസ്‌കാരത്തിന് എന്നെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുള്ള മെയില്‍ സന്ദേശം എത്തിയത്. അവാര്‍ഡ് സ്വീകരിക്കാന്‍ നേരിട്ട് എത്തണമെന്നുള്ള ഉറപ്പ് മാത്രമാണ് പ്രധാന വ്യവസ്ഥയിലുള്ളത്. അതിന് ഞാന്‍ സമ്മതമറിയിച്ചു. മെയ് 24 നാണ് പുരസ്‌കാരദാന ചടങ്ങ്. 20 ന് ഫ്രാന്‍സിലേയ്ക്ക് പോകും.’ സന്തോഷ് ശിവന്‍ കാന്‍ ചാനലിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു.

കാന്‍ ചലച്ചിത്ര മേളയോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് സമ്മാനിക്കുന്ന അന്തര്‍ദ്ദേശീയ പുരസ്‌കാരമാണ് പിയര്‍ ആഞ്ജിനോ. അന്തര്‍ദ്ദേശീയ തലത്തില്‍ കഴിവ് തെളിയിച്ച ഛായാഗ്രാഹകര്‍ക്കാണ് ഈ പുരസ്‌കാരം നല്‍കുന്നത്. ഇന്ത്യയില്‍നിന്ന് ആദ്യമായി ഈ പുരസ്‌കാരം നേടുന്ന ഛായാഗ്രാഹകന്‍ കൂടിയാണ് സന്തോഷ് ശിവന്‍.

The award ceremony and the red carpet will be on May 24 evening but we would need you to arrive on May 20 for the press interviews and depart from Cannes on May 25. Also on May 23, a masterclass will be organized for you so that you can share your experience with the younger generation.
